I figure this is newsworthy: I am now officially in possession of a job! XD After over a year of searching, I have found someone willing to hire me!
This means fuuunds! woohoo! I am so excited!! A job AND being done with school! What more could I ask for in life? I really can't think of much. XD
Just figured I'd update here since I'm super happy about that. I'll be going to visit my parents tonight and it will be the first time in AGES I can show up without a guilt trip about "when are you getting a job?" !!! YEEESS~! No more guilt!!
I was going to say no more stress but I'm sure some of that will come with having a job again. However, I think I can deal with a little stress compared to the horror that was being unemployed.

Become almost completely nocturnal. Go to sleep sometime in the morning and wake up as it's starting to get dark out.
Somewhat disorienting, but emotionally satisfying. Don't wake up depressed anymore. Get to sleep much faster. No more insomnia.
Very tired, but people are working on the roof. Seems like they try to make as much noise as possible. Find myself hoping they fall off the roof so it will be quiet. Not a nice thought.. was too tired to care yesterday. Not sure about today.
Wish someone would get back to me about jobs.
Good.... morning? What do you say when you go to sleep when it's light out?

I would like to officially announce that after what seems like a zillion years, I am officially done with college. My diploma is in my possession and it's over and I never have to go back.
I am very happy and this helps with a great deal of my stress.
Apologies for my prolonged absence. That was due to stress, as I was uncertain I would be able to graduate.

Found the best blog ever. Coffe with Sargeras.
Yes, he made an anti-Voldemort rant. But hey, it all made perfect sense and was funny as hell regardless. I blame J.K. Rowling for that anyway. It's not really Voldemort's fault that in his world magic can be deflected by love.
Might not make a whole lot of sense to my non-WoW-playing friends. The blog. Not the bit about Voldemort.
In other news, I've been sick all week. And tend to get tired and want to go to sleep but find myself unable to do so when I try. Night time has historically been my "be awake and get stuff done" time and I really can't seem to break myself of that even when dying of the plague.
I spend my entire day nearly collapsing from exhaustion and then night happens and I can't sleep. Isn't that the opposite of how sickness is supposed to go? You feel better during the day and it gets worse at night? I don't know.
I wrote a story about two of my characters I RP on WoW. Had a lot of fun with that.
Wow... tired just spontaneously set in again. Hate that about being sick. Things just sneak up on me. No warning. No gradual descent into unconsciousness. Just all of a sudden -BAM!- on the verge of collapse.
Going to try that sleeping thing now. Just watch me feel awake again the minute I lay down and turn the lights out.

This wig is so bright and obnoxious but I NEED it. If it doesn't work out for A'lar then I'll force someone else to wear it. I still have one un-named guy running around and perhaps what he needs to get himself a personality is a wig in bright neon orange with yellow tips.
We shall see.
Sorry.. I was excited about that.
I was also pretty excited that I managed to snag a Prince Nuada (of Hellboy II) minimee head. Never been tempted by one of those before but after seeing that one I loved it and I may or may not have been stalking everyone who I knew had one for the last few months in hopes that someone would decide to sell....
Sorry to the majority of you who probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

I made Kael eyebrows. Proper ones. Like Blood Elves are supposed to have. But I have this rather annoying migraine today which is preventing me from wanting to move more than two inches at a time and therefore there will be no pictures for now.
I also started work on his clothes. I THINK I have an idea for how to construct things but I'm not 100% sure yet. We'll see how it goes, I guess.
Sometime soon I really need to finish work on Andael and Defliel's elf ears... and then possibly give Doppelganger his ears too. His should be easy though.. they're the really small type of elfy ears.
Let's see um.. I also need to make Scileraen clothes sometime. He's still stealing clothes from Ezsphrein even though I have sketches of his outfit and all the materials already.
I think that's it for now. Hard to think with this headache. This is just sort of a list for myself..

I don't think I showed any pictures of my last attempt at casting eyes in hot glue. In fact, I'm almost certain I didn't. But I did spend hours hot gluing into an eye-shaped mold and mixing in colors to make weird designs.
Some of them came out pretty cool (I thought) but since hot glue tends to be translucent, they were ending up looking really dark when placed inside a head.. I also really liked some where I did a combination of red and gold swirls so I decided I wanted to acquire colored hot glue sticks and try this again a different way.
This time, for the 'whites' of the eyes I used red hot glue and for the center I used the clear with some gold paint! I made probably a dozen or more of these, but ( these two ) were my favorites!

I made Kael pants today. That is probably my least favorite article of clothing to make. Not enough separate parts.. but now his legs are covered and I don't have to worry about him being too cold or overexposed under his robes.

Today my project has been redoing the glowing eyes I made recently. While the translucent clay method was effective, I felt it was a little.. flat? Like the eyes were only glowing on the surface--not from the inside. So I'd been playing around with the idea of casting eyes, but while I have plenty of leftover silicon and resin from casting Shino's head, my resin is opaque and I didn't think that would work well for this project.
I vaguely considered acquiring clear resin, but it seemed like a big investment for a project that may or may not work out, plus if it was entirely clear, it might not diffuse the light from the LEDs enough.
Then I remembered how once, in a fit of less-than-brilliantness, I tried to hot glue together two pieces of silicon. So I decided I would attempt to cast eyes in hot glue! My first attempt came out looking like the terminator eyes since I stuck the LEDs all the way in. If I wanted to fix this it would be really simple as hot glue is easy enough to slice through with an exacto knife.
On my next try I put it slightly less deep in the hot glue, but it still came out looking like it had glowing pupils and the rest of the eye was clear.
Determined to prove that my mental pre-casts were correct and it could work, I decided to try casting the full eye first and then gluing the LED on in back so it had more glue in front of it to diffuse the light. This time, it worked out exactly as I'd hoped (if not better). I do get a somewhat clearly defined 'center' of the eye, but it radiates outward from there nicely so that the entire thing is red/green/yellow (depends on the LED I chose to use).
Once fully cooled, the eyes are really sturdy too. Nothing short of sharp objects and extreme heat will hurt them (that I can think of that they might run into...)

I fell yesterday while carrying a couple packages. As I did not want to risk damaging them, I chose not to drop them and catch myself and instead landed on my left knee and then fell forward to slam my upper left arm right into the corner of a stair.
The knee feels fine but my arms are both oddly bruised/sore in the same spot even though I didn't do anything to my right arm...

As usual, I can't seem to get to sleep. I'm inclined to blame the excessive amounts of painkillers and caffeine I took today in an attempt to end this 5 day headache.
So um... losing my train of thought easily. Uh.. right. Package. I got this uh... notice. Thing. For a package that I thought was lost in the mail. Final notice before they return it to the sender. I'd gone by to try to pick it up once before. Waited thirty minutes only to have them tell me it wasn't there. This time they found it in all of two seconds. Oh well.. I'm just glad I got it.
The contents of the package were gloves for Orkas. I've tried making gloves but sewing that small is really hard and they never seem to fit the right way. But now he has gloves and I'm happy. So um... oh yeah. This inspired me to take some photos of the people I did not cover in the last photo shoot dealy.
Photos are stupidly grainy because my lighting fails.

Just once in my life I'd like to have a room that isn't dimly lit and very yellow.
It all started when I was trying--well wait.. no. Okay, it all started last night. Kael's hair was too long and cut straight across at the bottom, so I decided I needed to cut it. My new thinning shears were sharp enough to allow me to sort of taper it down reasonably well.
I realized this would be good for Deidara's hair too, since I had just cut his straight off in parts because I didn't know how to style it. So I went about hacking at his hair and was reasonably pleased with it being a little less choppy.
This inspired me to take a photograph of Sasori and Deidara with this epic fish candle holder I found on sale recently. And then I decided to break out my decorative throw and pillow (also from various sales) and use those as a setting/backdrop.
Well, this resulted in some very oddly colored photos. After some attempts at color-correction in photoshop I find them rather creepy, but I still liked some of them (or the idea behind them) so...

Have about a month off now. Then summer school. Then I, hopefully, graduate.
I'm really out of it. It's not sinking in that I'm free. I don't know why. I was so excited last week at the end of real classes, but now that finals are over it doesn't feel real anymore. I kind of wander around only half with it.
Despite sleeping for most of today, I did manage to spend some time taking a couple pictures and doing ear mods...
